My head is made o` iron
My body`s made o` steel
My fists are made o` chucky stanes
And I`m ready for the field.

Our play is in the Scottish Galoshins tradition of Mummers plays. A cast of heroes and villains battle it out for a nation's honour, celebrating life, death and rebirth as they go. The play is of unknown age and was performed regularly until 1938, being revived by enthusiasts in 2001.

We perform the play at Hogmanay as part of the Biggar Bonfire celebration and at festivals throughout the year. The sword dance which starts and finishes the play is performed independently when required and is a feature of the Biggar Gala when it is used to salute the Gala Queen. The company also performs the Elgin longsword dance.

Our members are mostly Biggar locals with some travelling from Glasgow, Edinburgh and other parts. We meet once or twice a month to practise, teach new folk and plan stuff. We are always seeking new members, especially if you can play an instrument. You need no experience of dancing or acting - if you can walk, talk and travel to Biggar you too can be a Seguiser
